These Beloved Stars Of Hollywood’s Golden Age Are Still Alive And Enjoying Life In Retirement

We’re living in what can be described as highly uncertain times. Social issues, politics, climate concerns, and other big-picture concepts are frequently top of mind. But not too long ago, life was a whole lot easier. Back in a time that can now be reflected upon as the ‘golden age,’ life flowed in a far more effortless fashion. Kids could play with other kids from the neighborhood, and grown-ups could congregate and socialize. And the celebrities of that era? Well, thankfully there was no social media back then.
If you’ve ever wondered about your favorite childhood celebrity, and what they might be up today, look no further. Here are some of the most celebrated, but oftentimes forgotten, celebrities from the golden age of life. You’ll undoubtedly be a little more than surprised to learn what some of these people are up to today…
Tracy Austin – Born 1962

Tracy Austin is far from a has-been; she has been a sports icon and tennis professional since the mid seventies. A former number one in World Tennis, she has a list of professional accomplishments a mile long, including two Grand Slam titles and a WTA World Championship Tour title. She also bagged a mixed doubles championship at Wimbledon in 1980, making her one of the most accomplished tennis players in history.
Due to a near-fatal car accident, Austin was forced to rescind her professional game, much to the dismay of adoring fans. Not to worry; her professional associations have landed her back on top again with commentating positions with both NBC and USA networks. She continues to cover events such as the U.S. Open and the French open, and she has most recently been seen commentating for Canadian sports television as well.
