Lee Thompson Young

Lee Thompson Young frequented the Disney channel as “The Famous Jett Jackson,” a teen secret agent. He even landed a role on television on the show Friday Night Lights and then Rizzoli & Isles on TNT years after. But he suffered from chronic depression (and bipolar disorder), and his career wasn’t enough to keep those struggles away.

On August 19, 2013, he was found lifeless at his LA apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. He had taken his own life. A three-hour memorial was held for him, followed by the launch of a foundation in his name to remove the stigma of mental illness.
